In my country, when your shit is too large for postal box in front of the house, you get a nice little yellow piece of paper that tells you to get your ass to the nearest postal office and pick it up yourself ...

Caring only about our schedules, and how long we have to stand in the cold having to fold all the big stuff while wondering why this wanker didn't get the right sized box for all the crap he orders."

I had a mailman do stuff like that "delivered to mailbox" as status meant that maybe one corner of the parcel was in the mailbox, the cover was wedged open and whenever it would rain, everything would be wet. I filed a "did not receive package" complaint with the carrier when that happened three times since it's only delivered into the mailbox if it's all the way in there. Got my neighbors to do the same thing. The subcontractor apparently changed their strategy because there has not been a single package left on the porch or halfway in the mailbox in my neighborhood for 3 years now.
